| □ | Within 10 days of placing order | After your order is placed, our building manufacturer will contact you by phone and/or email to send you the set of generic engineering plans. Generic engineering plans work in most counties but if they do not satisfy your building department requirements, specific plans with calculations may need to be ordered at an additional cost. If specific engineering plans with calculations were stated on your order, you will receive a phone call from the manufacturer to collect the cost for these plans and then the cost will be subtracted from balance due amount shown on your order. You may also receive an email to confirm the design and the door and window locations. These specific engineering plans & calcs take 18-20 business days. IMPORTANT*** If you do not receive this call or an email within 10 days of placing your order, please contact Ideal Steel Buildings immediately to inform us so that we can resolve this. |
| □ | Preparing Site Plan and gather the distances to add to site plan | After purchasing your building, it is important to begin deciding exactly where your building will be located on your property. You should start drafting your site plan which is required by building departments to be included with your completed permit application. We can help by looking at your drawing and making suggestions if needed. A site plan EXAMPLE is attached to the Permit Application Cheat Sheet. Every building department is different and unfortunately, they are constantly evolving and changing their rules. We do our best to take info we have learned with previous clients and relay this info to our new customers but like previously mentioned, building departments are constantly changing. Attached is our Permit Application Cheat Sheet. This will specify what info and boxes should be marked on your permit application. | □ | Engineering plan confirmation | Once you have received your set of engineering plans from the manufacturer, please forward us your digital file so that we can document and confirm your plans are correct and that they include the proper foundation page. |
| □ | Submit for Permit | At this time, you combine the required documents(completed permit application, engineering plans and site plan). After this, its just a matter of waiting for the approval and this can take 4-6 weeks. |
| □ | Permit Approval | Once the permit is APPROVED, please or text (530)893-8474 a copy of the cover sheet to our office. |
| □ | Concrete Pad or site prep | The foundation prep begins. Once the foundation is ready for installation, please email or text (530)893-8474 us a picture of the slab or level ground. You are now marked “Ready” and you will get a call over the next 3-6 weeks but until that call, its just a waiting game. |
| □ | Call from factory to schedule install | The factory will call you approx. 5-10 days prior to arrival to schedule the date and time they will arrive and begin the installation process. If you accept the delivery date, the crew will be there on time and will begin assembling immediately. |
| □ | Balance due upon completion | The balance due for the building must be paid immediately upon completion of the building. There is a full workmanship warranty so if there is any issues you find or inspector finds, a service crew will be sent out to get this fixed immediately. |
| □ | Permit post inspections | If in the off chance corrections are required by the building department inspector, please forward the correction letter to Ideal Steel and we will make sure this is quickly addressed by the contractor. |
| □ | FINISHED BUILDING | It is as this time that you get to start moving in and using your new building. Congratulations and thank you so much for your business. |
